Apache2 on startup...?

This should be a quick simple answer, for a quick simple question.

I have Apache2 on my Mandrake 10.0 box, it works and everything, but it just wont start on startup. I know I have to put this line:

Code:
echo 'usr/local/apache2/bin/apachectl start'
Somewhere, but where? Is it in a 'rc' file? If so which one and where?

Thanks.

Install the rpm. If it doesnt start on boot, you can set it to start in the "services" section of drakconf.

Otherwise, you can copy off of some of the config files in rc3.d in /etc

I compiled Apache since all the directories and files are all in the same place.

But since the compiled verison is already installed, won't it interfere if I install the RPM as well?

Also, I opened up some of the files in the /etc/rc3.d folder and, umm.... it looked kinda confusing, I thought there was a line you could add into the rc.local file that would make Apache startup on boot...?

Oh, in rc.local, put

/usr/local/apache2/bin/apachectl start

You had a couple errors in your first post. There is no need for echo (that just prints text) and the /usr must have the backslash before it indicating the usr/ directory from root. (/)
