Apache-AdvancedExtranetServer installed two versions??

Hello guys.

I'm setting up a server with Mandrake. I chose to install Apache from the install as opposed to from source later.

I have a post under Networking having to do with Apache timing out.
(that's the actual problem)

my question here is why when I do a apachectl extendedstatus does it show two versions of Apache installed. 2.0.47 and 1.3.28

I was told in the other forum to just unistall one of them but why wold they both be installed by defaul???

A lot of people still use 1.3 versions...in fact, they're more widely used than the 2.0 versions.

Different sorts of services depend on different versions of apache, as well, so a lot of people like having both installed. I'm sure it creates complications, though.

Cool, but why does Mandrake install both by default then?
Regard less I should have no problem unInstalling both of them and rebuilding from source if needed...
