AMD's PowerNow techno with MDK 9.1

Hi everybody !
I've installed MDK 9.1 on my laptop, a Compaq Presario 724EA. This laptop is 100% ACPI and powered by an AMD Duron mobile 1200.

After installing the distro, I recompiled the kernel to activate ACPI. It work very well, my computer now reboot and poweroff normally (without ACPI working, the computer hangs on startup...).

But there is a last problem to solve : i'm not sure that the powernow is fonctionnal, because after some minutes, the computer is hot...and the fan always works.

I saw there is a patch for the kernel (Cpufreq), but no documentation and I'm a beginner with Linux.

Can you help me please ? What I must do to install - verify - make work properly - the powernow fonctionnality ?

Many thanks in advance...

Janfi

PS : please excuse the mistakes, I'm bad in english
