Acer Travelmate C110 + Mandriva 2011.0
Hi there!
I've been using (in)frequently Mandriva on this tiny laptop. I've never had problems because I've been using it very sparsely, but now I'd like to make this OS the main in the system.
First installation was ok a year ago, I've updated the whole system yesterday, through Ethernet, because WiFi was refusing to work.
After Mandriva 2011 was installed (pretty, actually), I've decided to make things behave my way.
I WANT Mandriva. Not Ubuntu nor any other. Mandriva only.
WiFi: PRO/Wireless LAN 2100 3B Mini PCI Adapter
Googling and reading (and reading error messages) I came to conclude that WiFi needs to be enabled through acerhk, which I installed. I installed also acerhkgui.
Still, using the configuration tool, it tells me to enable the wireless switch (RF Kill switch). Obviously, it does nothing when I press it.
I read about "sudo modprobe acerhk", but the konsole tells me that the command is not recognized.
The card is configured, Control Center shows it correctly.
Can someone throw a bone in my direction? I've read so much things and tried so many stuff I'm completely in the dark here.
Thanks.
