If you need to copy files to XP (ntfs), the easiest thing is to do so from within Linux. Just install ntfs-3g and your ntfs partition(s) become(s) writable. Following the same procedure, you can copy/move files from XP to Linux. But all the copying/moving would have to be done from within Linux. Yes, there are now a number of applications that will make Linux partitions accessible from XP but I have to say that they are far from stable and I wouldn't trust them with any data cared to keep.
