2007.1 Player again

I am sorry to find that again the video player is not configured to play
after loading the 2007.1 (rc3 spring (586)

I think this version appears to have fixed many of the problems that 2007.0 has but still the player switched from kaffeine to KMplayer still does not work. (clicking gets the window of the KMplayer) It states xine is not running.

Anyone, explain what you do to get the KMplayer going?

Up to 2005 the kaffeine worked without configuration and I cannot understand why it still is a mystery in getting the a video player running.

I do not quite understand your question. I use Kafeine here (running Mandriva 2007.1), and it works well for me. I had to tell it where to find the Windows codecs, and I had to install the dvdcss package (both from plf), but beyond that it just works.

What are you unable to play, and why do you not play it in Kafeine if that is what you like? If Kafeine is not installed, install it and use it. If the default media player is KMplayer or Mplayer, that is because Mandriva thinks most users prefer it, but you can change the default to what you want it to be in KDE Control Center > KDE Components > File Associations. Simply navigate to the file extension for the type of file you are trying to play, and move Kafeine to the top of the Application Preference Order list, then save your changes.

HTH,

HTH,
Kaffeine is not included in the 2007 version, KM player is but it does not appear to work.
