I have Mandrake 10 on my toshiba laptop right now and my wireless lan card doesn't work at all on it still. It's a BenQ AWL100 and I've been trying to get it to work but no success.
Should I just get a new card? They're cheap these days anyways, for the 11b's. Which card is the most linux-friendliest?
Is it worth upgrading to 10.1 for a laptop user like me?
Same for me lostchild I am downloading the 10.1 and let you know how it goes. The network seems to be a bit slow at the moment so it may take some time for me to get the 1-3 iso. The 4 and 5 iso are going much faster. I am not even going to try any further changes to my laptop until I have tried 10.1. I have to tell you that Slackware did set up alot better, the only reason I change back to Mandrake is because I am familiar with it.
I also run Mdk (10.0) on a toshiba notebook, but using a D-Link 650+ wifi card. I connect flawlessly to several wireless APs with it, using the acx100 driver
I don't know what chip your card uses, but there isn't Linux support for them all. If there isn't a working driver for your card now, I don't see how upgrading to 10.1 is going to solve that...

The other option that looks attractive is buying the D-Link 650 card....it's $30 CDN at my local store....
