While booting the Live DVD, it comes to a spot and just stops (not frozen, just stops). I tried two times, waited for a long time and it just stops.
The last 3 things that where on the screen where when it just stops are;
[OK] Reached target Multi-User System.
[OK] Reached target Graphical Interface.

Did you do an MD5sum check on the image before you burned it to disk? You might also test the Live DVD in another computer. If it fails there, it's almost certainly something to do with the optical media.
I have used Mageia and have not encountered anything like this.
