Mageia 5.1 USB doesn't boot

On my Lenovo desktop, Mageia 5.1, does not boot from the USB stick, whereas Mint does. I wonder if it needs UEFI, I think I put my desktop to the older system.

Using Disks in Mint, I dumped the ISO onto the stick, but it was interrupted and I had to start again. Right now both Mint and Mageia are plugged in and it boot from Mint. And im Mint the USB stick looks right, I can open and see the files. Is there something I don't know?

According to the documentation the Mageia ISO is a hybrid so you can use the dd command to copy it to a USB drive. Try:

dd if=Mageia.iso of=/dev/sdx (replace sdx with the real device ID of the USB drive)

Make sure you verify the device ID again before executing the command.
