After upgrade to 9 screen never sleeps

Hi there everyone,
After I upgraded from Mageia 8 to 9, the screen never sleeps automatically. Neither the XScreenSaver nor the XFCE Power Manager would make the screen sleep.

Is there a setting I need to change somewhere in the /etc ?

Thanks a million in advance.

Hmmmmm . . . .

Maybe I'll hold off on upgrading for a couple days.

Then again, I might just run the upgrade tomorrow and see if it happens to me.

I managed to upgrade to v. 9 (that's a whole nother story).

I found that, in xscreensaver-demo-->Advanced, the display power management had gotten turned. I turned it back on and the display power management seems to be working successfully. However, whenever I reopen xscreensaver-demo, the display power management seems default back to off and needs to be turned on again.
