Threads marked as Completed or Answered?

Would it be possible for those creators of threads to be able to mark the thread as completed or answered? The reason I ask is that it would make it more simple for those performing searches to find not just threads that discuss the topic their curious about but also those that provide possible answers.

There are so many threads that end up abandoned or if they are answered the only way to determine if a solution worked would be to scroll through 4 pages of content and hopefully see a post at the bottom saying "Thanks guys!".

It would also help with archiving in that after 3 months or 6 or after a year those unanswered (abandoned) threads could be deleted freeing up space and uncluttering searches.

just a thought.

If you haven't noticed, in this forum we actually have this already enabled but still testing to see how many will use this. There are alot of questions to be asked and answered on how effective this is and how it might affect threads with a marked yes for answered, if anyone else will read and contribute if necessary, etc. Those types of issues that may occur.
