For those interested in more information on the Reputation System that we're currently rolling out as a replacement to the Thanks system, visit: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...system-828421/

We're looking for as much feedback as possible on this feature. Thanks.

Note that I'm going to leave this thread open, but only feedback pertaining to the "Thanks" system should be left here.

Hi,

One question related to the Thanks system. If this system is not coming back do you intend to replace/remove the Top Thanked in the LQ stats page?

Kind regards,

Eric

Will there be a option to view which of your posts have been repp'ed up at all? I'd guess you'd keep "by who" secret.

EricTRA, done.

djsmiley2k, I explicitly stated that any future posts in this thread should pertain only to the Thanks system. There is a separate thread going for the reputation system, which I linked to (and that thread already contains the answer to your question)

Well, having waded through all these posts, I'm going to add my (somewhat unoriginal) opinions.

The Thanks listings enabled one to see who was likely to be worth listening to when they gave advice.

It gave one an idea of how effective ones own efforts at helping others were.

It is true that the system was crude, but it was simple and easy to use.

It might well be possible to devise something better, but why remove the old feature before you've done so? (You're not a Gnome developer by any chance, are you Jeremy?)

You do realize the replacement system is already being rolled out, correct?

Dear Jeremy,

to stop everyone moaning please replace the "Yes" text with the thumbs up Icon.

Much love

--Anti-Moaning2000

P.S. I know people are just putting their point of view across and I welcome that, its just amusing as now this system is basically the same as the other, but more visible without having to check a users stats - which is effectively what was asked for.

I think - it's better not to have this button. Thank you for this modification.
