how about: each new "which distro" thread which isn't unique (like the laptop mp3 one mentioned above) gets answered with a generic response: "install a few and pick one, do some research, etc etc" locked, and all other responses, such as "idiot newbie" "do a search" and "my favourite..." are deleted... as anti LQ as that might be.
