New Section - LinuxAnswers

I am proud to announce a much awaited new addition to LinuxQuestions.org. LinuxAnswers is the howto/FAQ/tutorials section of LQ. It will include a wide range of articles from small to large. There are only 3 articles in it now, but the mods and I are hard at work on many others. Members will also be able to contribute to the effort. The new site can be viewed at:
http://www.linuxanswers.org/ (or http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/answers.php )

As with the rest of the site please let us know if you have any suggestions or find a bug. Thanks.

I've just noticed that there is no link to the Linux General subforum "LinuxAnswers Discussion" from the main forum page. You have most of the others there - It may give it a bit more prominance if it is included.

It's just my guess...
But maybe it's because the idea is to first read the "LinuxAnswer" possible from:
www.linuxanswers.org
And then the forum up there is to discuss the result of reading the "Answer" rather than to discuss it before reading...

But I do agree, something that gives it a bit more "Hello I'm over here" for the Answers section would be good. The button up top is great and was happy to see it when I went to looking for it earlier.

Cool

Good call, MasterC; I hadn't noticed the button. A very welcome addition, Jeremy, thanks

There was a problem with adding it. It will hopefully be resolved soon. Thanks.

Ok, so I submitted a howto on LAMP yesterday, and it seemed to disappear. I assumed that it was so a mod could read it before posting it up. Unfortunatly it was not quite complete, I was just testing it to see if the tags work like in regular posts, than I was going to finish it and plug in the links.

Today in this thread:
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...threadid=72063
I noticed that Master C referenced it, but I can't see it anywhere....thus I can not finish it.

Anyone know what's up?

Cheers

I don't know but I think one of the mods must read it first. You can get to yours here:

Well, first yes, Jeremy will review it before adding it. Also you want to make sure everything is finalized, as you won't be able to edit it afterwards, as these aren't like regular posts in the forums. That's why we create a separate discussion thread along with the submittal of a howto.. etc.

bulliver,

A LAMP's HOWTO was already assigned to a mod and was almost completed. I will forward what you submitted to the mod that is responsibile for the article in question. Thanks.

I should add to this. If anyone is considering submitting an article for LinuxAnswers please contact me with the subject first. We have many article on the way and I do not want any duplicate efforts made. Thanks again.
