new ad space

Hello! I'm back after a small break, and I have noticed that there are now google ads on the bottom of the threads in the blue space.
At first I hated them, but I'd like to say thankyou for only going for the addsense word only adds. Really unobtrusive, and, I don't hate them anymore.
Have costs gone up? (re running the whole site etc)

I hate to ask you this jeremy, but, do you work only at LQ or do you have another job?

Yes...Even, I have noticed the ads below...Nice idea...
Good, the number of ads are increasing in proportion to members and traffic flows.

Well, found out something from traffic detail providing website...
http://www.alexa.com/data/details/tr...xquestions.org

Quite good!!!

I hope the money from these ads are keeping the Website running normally!!!

titanium_geek, I do indeed have a full time job that is unrelated to LQ.
redhatrosh, don't forget - Alexa will *way* under report our traffic. It only runs in IE, and as I posted here http://jeremy.linuxquestions.org/blo...6/1037181.html we don't get that much IE traffic.

Awesome. That's the kind of job I'd like to have, though I've never quite figured out how to persue it. Right now, I'm just about halfway through a degree in Computer Science, and not quite sure Computer "Science" is my thing... I'm more into the applied side of computers and networks, rather than theory.

dunno if this is a bug, but the ads weren't at the bottom of this post until I hit the "answered" button and then they came back.

Ok. Sir.
It is surprsing to know that though there are 52% users who browse LQ with Firefox/Mozilla.

However, with five years completed, I feel LQ has gained compartively good ranking in alexa's context.

LQ keep growing....we are always there...
