Message saying I can't post URL's

Hi there,

I am a poor drustrated Linux (and LQ) newbie frustrated by a Wireless Networking problem. In desperation I am trying to post in the Wireless Networking forum only to get a message saying that unless I have posted 5 times I can't post URL's. I don't have a problem with this rule. The problem is that my post doesn't contain any URL's. I did contain an IP address which I x'd out but I still get the same message.

Any ideas now ..

Ever more frustratedly ....

another way, esp for ip addresses, is to use the code tags: [ code] and [/ code] withoout the spaces.

testing: 127.0.0.1

Ip addresses show up as text, not as hyperlinks. Did you put [url ][/ url] around it? or use http:/ / in front of it?

Are you sure that some output you are pasting doesn't have a URL (many network drivers for instance do this)?
