Thats why you never make your user name your email address...
Just create a new account here on LQ, thats not your email address.

Have you PM'd a mod? If you explain the problem to them, they might delete this thread. However, You can always either create a new Hotmail account, Use a Gmail account, Yahoo, etc. No need to stress yourself over this if they won't change it. There's a lot of free email services. Send your contacts your new address, and just let this one die a slow death.
i pm mod, email them, did everything i can,
the thing is lot of ppl send me email everyday, and from my uni also, it is not easy to change the email address. and i think there is easier way to do rather than that.
do you think the mod still active here?
You need to email Jeremy. His details are at the foot of the page on the contact form. I cannot send you a mail from your profile page as you have it disabled, luckily I know your email address...!
I have also moved your last few posts to Linux Suggestions and Feedback as that is where Jeremy mostly spends his time.
Interesting side note: There ARE accounts that have been deleted...If you randomly query using the user ID#, you will find dead numbers.
I witnessed one case where the poster's behavior would certainly have caused ME to pull the plug. Sure enough, that account vanished.
If I were running things, I surely would not publicize the criteria for deletion...
There really are only two reasons to delete a user account:
the first is that Jeremy is pruning the database and the poster has never posted.
the second is that the poster has posted something so heinous that we have to wipe them from LQ (this is so rare that I can only recall one time this has happened) - sheer stupidity doesn't count
Personally, I can't see any reason to delete this thread... it doesn't meet any of the criteria for deletion. Renaming a user account is possible, but rare. In any case, the only person with the powers you seek is Jeremy (site owner/root).
You could also edit your Hotmail spam filter to reject all e-mails from anyone who is not in your address book. Before I done so, I received tons of spam, even though my e-mail address was never publicized.
Cheers
