Austintx, I do like the hardware idea maybe a best laptop for Linux category as well. It would have to be many polls one for each and maybe more for laptop classes plus whats the limit on choices for a single poll? I don't think consumer reports will make suggestions on Linux outside of Android and such anytime soon and I did love the "Open Source Hardware Product of the Year," learned a lot including don't be a fanboy except for Linux of course.

I think it would be nice to see a breakdown by geographic area. Im interested in seeing who uses what and where it is more prevalent.

Especially when it comes to servers. Slackware is always the #1 server distro, but here in Michigan i have never, in my 18 years as a contractor and sysadmin seen a slackware server in Michigan. Only Red Hat, Solaris, Debian, Centos, SL,.. and a few others. Never Slackware though.

Interesting no? To see geographic preferences of different categories?

Those of us in Facebook Group Admin (co-admin etc) see people from the planet joining every day. I co-admin Linux Mint Members and am a member of numerous other Linux OS groups. I have at least 3 different Linux OSes on my machines. Not exclusively Mint, or Feather, or LXLE, or Linux Lite ... the group admins will be thrilled as to find the countries from which their members have joined. We are indeed a Global League of Nations of Linux Mint Users (a global user group) of nearing 17,000 members, the majority being in the past year alone.

My suggestion for a poll: What Window Manager(s) are you using? (a multiple-choice questions -- Gnome2, Gnome3, KDE, Enlightenment, xfce, Fluxbox, etc.), followed by Which Window Manager do you like most? (single choice question).

Because, personally I prefer Gentoo, but in my previous workplace I had to admin a mix of Ubuntu + CentOS + RHEL + OEL machines.

my example , i voted 27,it would be 2d7cd I also have 7ad & 6cd[3 times] i have also have had 6&7-abcd'sssss [i find comps and am given comps , i find which ones work and recombine the best parts for the best MB [+CPU}and max it out [ram] with the parts i have] .this is why I got back into Linux , needed free working OS before i couldgive them back or away It is funny that new systems are now sold with out original OS disc's and people do not make back-ups before crashing their systems , then do not want to pay 100 to get an OS , here I am , & this is Ubuntu 12.04 LTS , this is Fire fox and you can get online again ;-)

6. indicator-sysmonitor (toolbar)

Plus a lot more I did not include. Just a example. Because tint2 taskbar has monitor tools you can include also. Edit: Like byte on panel.
