LQ Filter & Exemption Ruling causing Lag

Hi,

I'm curious as to if LQ is utilizing a Exemption Rule system to filter reply or Thread content?

It seems there is a long lag whenever I post a new thread or even a reply. I've noticed this for a while and finally decided to query. Do other members notice this lag?

I don't detect any particular lag when posting or making a thread; not more than what I would attribute to usual www and network latencies, and my own ISP's latency. Only noticeable lag I detect with LQ is when searching/reading zero-reply forums -- the server(s) take a moment to conjure up the zero-reply thread list -- and I've always figured that was understandable. It isn't long, maybe a few seconds.

Something I have noticed an increase in, which I used to believe affected primarily only moi, is accidental double-posts. I'm not sure what causes them (and that may be a subject for another thread) but if there were anything inducing a lag as described by onebuck, then perhaps the double-posts could be related too....? For the record, I am no longer plagued by double-posts (knocking on some wood).

I've noticed lag when searching anywhere in the forums.

This happens to me on rare occasion, but usually only when it takes forever to post, and I'm doing it from the Quick Reply box (which is where I write almost all my posts, including this one ).

I've not noticed any lags, but if it's something many members are noticing then I'll look into it. We'll also look into the double-posting issue ASAP. Searches are indeed sometimes slow. We have an infrastructure change planned to address this, but don't have a solid ETA at this time.

I do notice that searches can be really really slow sometimes ... don't know why.
