LQ Facebook page
Regarding LQ's Facebook page: Well I wanted to reply to the post about LQ's Facebook page celebrating their having over 1,000 fans on that page, but I was prevented from doing so by Facebook's verify account script. (It wants a cell phone # to verify your account--which is stupid because not all people have a cell phone nor are all carriers "approved" by FB).
**Too bad LQ can't give them some pointers on a better, fair-er verification system!**
Anyway, this is what I would have commented on that FB page ( http://www.facebook.com/LinuxQuestions.org?) had I been able to:
LQ is the first place I go to for answers. I find the people there both nice and helpful. I also like that there are answers for almost all the distros not just a few.

I have moved this to LQ Suggestions & Feedback. I've never seen this on FB - were you creating a new account?

Nope, I've been on FB for quite a few months now.
Were you able to see the page? It's a fan page AFAIK but I thought it had some ties here.

That is the official LQ fB fan page, although I have never been asked to provide a cell phone number before.

I clicked it and clicked the link at the top to become a fan and it let me. I've not seen the need to post a phone number on FB at all.

@Xavier and Jeremy:
I hadn't seen this before the other day either. I think it will pop up for you too after some time (seems to be random). I've been a member there since February so that's probably why I'm seeing that now. I'm able to comment on my friends pages but just not on the LinuxQuestions one, so for me (and anyone else having the same problem) that LQ FB contest is not fair because I (and others) cannot post due to FB's stupidity.
This is the thread on FB where others are complaining about the same thing: http://www.facebook.com/help/question.php?id=83056 As you can see, many people are having the same problem as me. As I've said, too bad you guys can't give them some good advice on a fairer verification system!
P.S. Jeremy, I am now following you on Twitter.

P.S. Jeremy, It looks like the Twitter contest is over by now, I saw that you posted that two people won already.
