I cannot get past re-direct after I log in to LInux questions with Opera
Hi all,
Just wanted to drop a note and let you know that I cannot get past the part where it says "welcome old_fogie, click here if you do not get re-directed"
I just get bounced back to the log-in page.
I'm using Opera 9.0 Beta 2 and had the problem with 8.5 and 9.0 Beta 1.
I tried it from a few pc's with Opera 9.0 Beta 2 also and no luck.
I CAN log in with other browser though.
I sent an email off to Opera with a link to the page, but I dont know if they will go thru the time to set up an account and try it out or not too see the problem.
I hope it's something that Opera or LQ fixes, as I find the Opera is blazing fast on old pc's for an old fogie like me.
The only thing I can suggest is to get a copy of ethereal (network analyser), log in using Firefox, watch what HTTP commands go past - looking for things like "302 Moved Temporarily". Then log in using opera, and see how far it gets, and if the same messages are issued. If they are, then it means it's a bug with opera. Otherwise, it may be a bug with LQ.
FWIW ... Just an update, I went over to linux-gamers.net and I had the same issue there in opera. Apparently something to do with HTTP-Refferrer not being allowed on my end.
