How to search for text strings?

I'd like to use the site's search engine to look for messages containing a certain text string (that is, for example, "installing a modem"), but I'm not able to do that.

I tried to use single or double quotes but I continue getting messages containing the words (all of them?) but not the phrase, which is hundreds of messages not dealing with the matter I'm looking for.

I also looked, in the advanced search page, for an option like "search exact phrase" or something like that, but did not find anything similar.
Maybe I'm just not seeing it.

Can you tell me the right way to perform a phrase search?

Thanks

I know you can search LQ with Google if you combine site:linuxquestions.org with quoted phrase. Example:
Code:
site:linuxquestions.org "The Problem With PHP Application Security"

"installing a modem" actually searches for the phrase, not just the individual words. A quick check confirms this, at least for me. If you see a specific case where this is not happening, please let us know.
