I don't know if it's possible to just enable images on One Topic. If so that would be cool idea. Get to see who is always bashing me for not doing a search first.
we have had numerous discussions about this kinda of thing, similar to using avatars and such, and the general concensus was that they will probably cheapen the site. This site is intended to be sophisicated refined, and not some l33t site, hence the lack of avatars, personal statuses (e.g newbie / member not linux god / l33t d00d etc...) While it's perfectly acceptable to have individual threads about photos and such making it intrinsic to the site would birng it down i think. especially when people would inevitably just put stupid photos of bill gates or something on their profile. All that sort of thing is not suited o this site. Plenty of other sites have them, and that's one of the reasons other sites look annoying and cheap.
and since you asked.. no i'm not interested in knowing what you look like either.

If you're looking for a good photo gallery program check out www.photopost.com. It is currently coded in Perl but being ported to PHP. This gallery is great and we use it over at TechIMO.com. (only because the site's owner created it )
I'm sure there's another thread (recently) on this exact topic...in fact, I'm certain! I only replied to it 20 mins ago! Most people don't use their own photos, so what's the point? There is a thread around that has some links in it to photos, but other than that...it ain't gonna happen.
Originally posted by sakeeb but it is the case of chat profiles that most people doesn't give their actual photos. it may happen here also
So what? Who cares? Say, if instead of my real photo, I stick this picture in the gallery, so what? It matches my username. I disagree with all the people who don't support the gallery... A lot can be learned about a person's personality just by looking at their photo/avatar.
Frankly, the little tux avatars we are forced to bear are getting a bit tiresome... At least custom avatars should be enabled.
Originally posted by trickykid Actually no, I'm not personally. Though if you look hard enough there was a thread that had some members posting links to their pics.
[IMG] code is not allowed... And linking sux. If it was possible to embed the image into your post (say, in your signature)...
