HCL link error

When im under HCL -> I/O devices -> Logitech and make a new post, and after posting click the "path" object Logitech to get back to the category, I get a no items available page (http://www.linuxquestions.org/hcl/showcat.php?cat=4410) This is pretty logic taking that the category 4410 diesnt exist and Logitech is actually 441.. Sofar for the two posts ive made there the problem has reocurred, but if not having just posted, there is no such problem and the page=2 variable is also passed along.

edit: oh yeah, using the Slackware official build of Firefox 1.0.6

Probably because new entries to the HCL have to be approved by a moderator before they appear.

I understand that, but what I dont, is that what has it got to do with the link leading out of there? (: Surely the Logitech category a a whole has been approved allready? (;

Apologies, I didn't read the tread closely enough. The link works for me and i get to http://www.linuxquestions.org/hcl/showcat.php?cat=441

You have a 0 at the end of your url. It may be that Jeremy was working on the site when you tried to access it.

I was not working on the HCL, so this may be a bug. We'll take a look. Has this happened to anyone else?

Yes, it really adds a zero to the category link as: http://www.linuxquestions.org/hcl/showcat.php?cat=4760
I was posting for LG and the correct category is 476

btw: I could not post the review for the HL-DT-ST GSA-4163B because the 'Post review' link was missing. After figuring the correct url to follow (based on the other links) i was able to do it. If it was intentional and I was not allowed to post, then sorry .

Please pardon my ignorance.

What is an HCL Entry. I noticed it below my new username.

Thank you, Jeff

Actually no, I hadn't looked at that link. I did try the HCL Entries link on several posts and the links I had tried did not have any listings. Thanks for pointing out that HCL stands for Hardware Compatibility List. That makes it very clear.

Yeah, the HCL Entires link will literally show you nothing unless you have actual HCL entries submitted, so it's kind of decieving at first.

The problem seems to still be around, this time ive got a sure match for ye to poke upon.. (; When I access the rewiew via a _direct_ link like the one from the mail sent when the product is reviewed or when youve just created the product page, the problem comes up with the upper category link being trailed with a extra 0.. Heres a straight link:
http://www.linuxquestions.org/hcl/sh...p?product=2944

Do notice where the 'logitech' link is leading. All the other links seem fine tho.. But,. if accessing the article normally by bowsing around the HCL, the link which thru you end to the product is
http://www.linuxquestions.org/hcl/sh...cat=441&page=1

So, the category actually is passed along. So, my wild guess is that the product goes haywire when it doesnt get the cat passed along as some rare events cause it to be looked upon.. However, this doesnt seem to be the case as I tested http://www.linuxquestions.org/hcl/sh...t=2944&cat=441 with the same ill results.

So, by trial and error I tested all the combinations and it seems both variables cat=441&page=1 need to be passed along or the link will point odd..

Hope this helps in debugging.. (:

Artanicus, we're working on an HCL and Reviews code update that should significantly clean things like this up. Those upgrades should be rolled out with the upcoming forum upgrades.
