get logged out every 5 seconds
Hi there
i love this site and come here all the time.
Unfortunately whenever I log in I seem to get logged out in like 5 - 10 seconds. This is especially annoying when I'm trying to type a question or a response.
Every time I post this is what I have to do:
0. Click post reply (or post new thread)
1. Log in
2. Type in my question or response
3. Select all my text, copy it.
4. Click back button
5. Click post reply (or post new thread)
6. Log in
7. Paste my text and click submit in 5 seconds or less
8. Get forwarded back to the original post
9. Back to step 0.
If I dont follow these steps, by the time I click submit, I have to log in, and then I get an error "No thread specified." and I lose everything I typed.
THis happens no matter what computer or OS I'm using (work, home, Windows 98/ME/XP or Linux)
Very annoying. Could you guys make the login time longer? All the other forums I participate in I only have to log in once.

Try the following:
1) enable cookies in your LQ profile.
2) logout and the manually delete any LQ related cookies
3) Log back in
You should be all set after that.

Cookies were not enabled in my user profile. I hope that fixes it! Thanks.

This worked the first time (thanks) but now that you've upgraded, the problem is back and I can't find anything in my profile to stop it. Also, I have to re-login everytime I come to the site even though the "remember me" box is checked (even if I leave for 20 minutes and come back.)
TIA
