Attempting to modify account profile bombs

I've tried a couple of times to modify the profile for my account but, each time, I'm presented with a page that tells me I have to enter a valid email address. Of course, there is already a valid email address in the form (in both form fields, BTW). At least it's good enough to inform me when someone's responded to a forum thread that I've subscribed to.

Any suggestions?
