Advertising, etc.

I started to post a tongue and cheek thing called "How to advertise on LQ"....

I've seen a few inappropriate posts closed in the last few days--with the general admonition: "We don't do that here" The problem is that the poster's profile (with e-mail) was still accessible.

Why not simply DELETE the post? Or--is there a way of disabling e-mail to a member?

We don't remove posts here unless it's an egregious offense.

Most of the time we'll remove email address links and or links to obvious advertising or spam links, but not the thread or post itself.

I understand and agree with the policy. The loophole is that one can still contact the OP via e-mail in their profile.
