Coolest thing is groovin to my Internet radio which WON'T loose its connection for a week guaranteed and then looking at my beautiful shiny shell with its shiny little cursor and thinking about my amazing uptime that, if computer wasn't moved, would be years indeed!!

By far the coolest thing I've done with linux was using a Knoppix live CD to rescue some data from a crashed HD when our IT "professional" couldn't. What a feeling of satisfaction!

You can't beat the versatility of Knoppix! What else would give you a fully functioning desktop with apps and a copying and pasting machine in minutes or even seconds!

The coolest thing I did recently was realizing that I didn't have enough storage/speed/memory on my old 200MHz PentiumMMX 48mb ram, 2gig hard drive Acer laptop to run all the nifty stuff I wanted to like Gaim, Gimp, Firefox, etc, and then figuring out that I could run the installed versions via the network by sshing to my more powerful desktop and setting the display pointed to my laptop's xserver. Hence, I get programs running on a computer with a 1.8GHz Duron to display on my old ass laptop.

Only probem is... the laptop is on my wireless network, so if I go out of range, all the things running via the network stop working :P

cat /dev/urandom > /dev/dsp

Even funnier when someone else is using the machine.

Which internet radio? The only station I can even tune into (and I have mplayer-plug in, etc) is 9412.com and that's because it has a file on it's website to download...

Shoutcast won't let me do anything, where do you go?

I've always loved stuff like URPMI, and that's been the best aspect of linux for me. For example:

My Girlfriend: "Don't you have any games on your computer?"
Me: (logs in as root, types "urpmi lbreakout", waits 5 seconds) "And there you go."
My Girlfriend: "Oh."
