Thanks for your help Dark,

For you information:

I'm using Xfree86 4.5.0 (installed myself which was probably a mistake, but as I am the only one using this particular server I decided the best way to learn was to try.) I am also using tightvnc 1.2.9-1.


As it seems to be working, I'll leave it alone, I've got the thread bookmarked incase of future problems though.

Thanks a lot Dark_Helmet and also Morteen for your patch.
I had the same problem as you with building TightVNC1.2.9 on a LinuxFromScratch 6.1 box (gcc 3.4.3)
