just got first installation of linux to run :)

ok, a couple of days ago, I was in my computer chair and rolled over my windows xp pro cd (it was a legal copy, not the upgrade, but the over-priced full version).

perhaps it was a sign from heaven or maybe it was a subconscious action, but i knew i was going to need a new operating system.

to make a long story short, i just got slackware 9.1 up and running (at 2:30 AM).

w00t!

heard about this site on glocktalk.com and thought i'd check it out. now this site is at the top of my bookmarks .

Good work!
I keep my Windows CDs around for posterity, and the occasional friend who asks for them. Maybe I should trick them and put a distro, and tell them it's longhorm. Hmm.. I think I'm actually going to do that. Just to see what they say.

I did that to my wife. She was gone for the weekend so I installed linux on her laptop. It was worth it just to see the look on her face when she first booted. Unfortunately I couldn't convince her to convert. I had to put XP Pro back on it for her.
