Question index.htm doesn't open instead it show up

I'm just a poor Linux newbie...

I configured Apache 2 in order to have my website there. The problem i have is that the page that open show files in the directory instead of opening the file index.htm.

In other words instead of having a beautiful site I got a kind of ftp...

I've searched a lot but i do not find :-(

That is simple eh?

Pascal

futur site : ladouze.no-ip.info

Also if you can tell me if the site works from the outside in case...

This was my first question in a forum!!!

Hi Pascal,

I could not access your site, sorry!

The default file is normally called index.html - as a quick test, try renaming your index.htm to this. If that works, but you want to use .htm, edit your httpd.conf file and add a DirectoryIndex directive to the appropriate <Directory> section (or before the Directory tags if you want it to apply globally).
