Lightbulb Understanding Linux better

I've been in the industry for over 10yrs. Have done my share of user support, hardware support and system administration. So my technical knowledge is there, just need to brush up on Linux.

I'm trying to learn how to be more proficient with Red Hat. I'm interested in Squid, Apache & Samba. I recently acquired a PII 400, 256MB & 15GB drive. This is going to run Red Hat 9 and the above mentioned services.

I'm having some troubles getting these configured. I guess I have to start thinking outside of the box.

As long as I have been in the IT industry, I have never really joined any kind of forum before, so this is new to me as well. By the looks of things, I should be able to learn what I need from all of you!

I will still continue to use XP for work related purposes, so I have XP & RH9 on my laptop right now. And since my wife still needs to function on the computer , I will have a mix of Microsoft and Linux at home.

Okay..so that's it for now. Hope to get some much needed help from everyone! Thanks for your time in advance.

Chris
