Hi I am new here. I know nothing about the IT but wish to learn as much as I possibly can. Someone suggested LINUX is good, I am here to learn more about it. The entire IT world is way too much for one person to know. Linux as well as other OS's both open sourced and commercial have concepts in common. What you may already know in windows translates to other OS's usually. The words are different in some cases and how you use them.

Knowing linux alone won't help you entirely. IT covers hardware, software, networking and can go into everything from ergonomics to employee training to pay issues and legal issues.

Things like knowing how to set an IP address is a task that would help you in many areas. From the computer to switches all that is needed and more.
