New to the forums and linux

Hello everyone,

I'm new to Linux. I'm a 2nd semester student at a local community college. I'm taking an open source class that uses Slackware. I'm steadily becoming less reliant on Windows and finding I like Linux soooo much more.

A friend of mine suggested I sign up for message boards here because there is a lot of great information and a lot of great people. I'm really new to Linux, so please be gentle.
