finally after all these years of dabbling in linux. briefly clicking around various live editions, installing only to uninstall, being unsure of how to fit linux into my massive system of data and windows programs, i have finally found my entry point.
having just changed careers to IT i now have a direct need to learn basic and advanced IT concepts and applications such as DHCP/DNS/LDAP/NTS/Email/Apache/MySQL and other vital network services. i will be asking plenty of questions on how to achieve the server stack i need to test and implement large, server-based networks. although i will eventually be using windows server environments almost exclusively, i will always find a need for my linux servers and hope to migrate to them eventually when my career offers me the chance to do so.
it's great to meet you all. i hope to hear from you often and being a teacher of 11 years hope to contribute much in the way of tutorials and overall documentation.
