Linux newbie doing Enterprise install and config

Hi all,
I'm starting a new job with Oracle BI and am getting doing a lot of practice with various things that I've had limited experience with in the past. Among those are Linux. I'm currently setting up my first box and so far so good.

When configuring a Linux server for use with Oracle, the most important thing is to stick to Oracle's pre-requirements document for the Oracle applications/database version that you are installing.

There will be one for each of the various supported operating systems.

Oracle tend to require kernel parameter tuning, but their documentation is pretty much a step-by-step guide.

Good Luck with the install and config, and welcome to LQ
