Introduction

Hi Everyone,

Just saying hello and introducing myself. I'm a former IT Specialist, IT Director, Unemployed IT Guy who now helps my wife with her IT business. We are deploying an Ubuntu File Server at a client and after installing it, discovered it didn't have a gui built in. I took a UNIX class in college and enjoy typing commands from time to time but basically I am not very good at it. So, here I am.

Very nice. Hope you get things figured out; it only takes a couple of text config files to get a fileserver up and running, and a couple graphical tools on your workstation should be sufficient to administer the server; I have a similar sandbox setup at home.

Thank you for the good wishes geek745. I was just about ready to install Gnome on my server until I installed Webmin. It is much cooler than I thought it would be. I was feeling all triumphant until I read the part in your post about needing the config files to administer my file server. I don't have a clue. Search time for me :-(
