Intro

Hello,

Not exactly newbie to Linux, have experimented with it in the past. Recently got an old laptop and would like to install Linux on it in addition to the XP Pro already installed. Plus recently got an Android phone running Froyo and its the best phone i have ever had due to ease of installng apps and the plethora of freeware.

o hi there.
good to see new users around here.

wish you a good luck with linux. I am pretty sure that if that laptop runs xp it will do linux .. if it has less than 256 ram you can consider puppy linux . if it has more , perhaps 512 ram , you might want to consider ubuntu , or linux mint .

or if you want to learn linux , i've read the forums here that slackware is the best to learn how linux works..

Added additional stick of 512. But only Celeron but was free so cant grip. If I remember correctly to have Windows and Linux on same machine (dual boot) the MS had to be installed first then Linux after that. Will check out slackware. Thanks
