Smile Hi from upstate SC!

Homeschoolers use Linux too! My daughter put Debian on my eMac to bring us up to date. We ran across an article on LowEndMac recommending Ubuntu for PPC Macs, and so she started me on that. Now she is back at college and I must fend for myself. Ubuntu works great on my eMac except for the CD drive. I have lots of reading to do about that. Fortunately, no rush, I only burn CDs of family photos a couple of times a year. Meanwhile, I have lots to learn. Thanks for all the information available here.

Welcome to LQ. Good to hear you know and understand you need to learn and are ready for the same. But it should not be too difficult. Seems you are using Ubuntu. With this release, there is Ubuntu manual project that has released official Ubuntu manual that you can download and use. That should be a great help for you to start off.
