Hello everyone, i knew that sooner or later i would need to switch to Linux , my boss went ahead and installed a RedHat Server with a Gnome desktop for me to work with and what used to be simple (uncle Bill's OS) soon became very complex due to my total lack of Linux understanding....i deccided to join this forum for that reason...i work with Cad/Cam Minocam/ShoeDesign applications and these run smooth under the RedHat, now i need to learn how to work with the OS, i'm sure i'll learn plenty here.

Welcome to LQ and I hope to read your questions soon. We will be glad to help you in this new world - not that new after all - (at least is new for you).

The good news for you is, thanks for the modern Desktop environments in linux, there is no BIG changes from a user point of view. The inners of the system is quite different but it will not be a concern for you.
