I'm not sure about it, too. Found that words in the installation window when I was installing MX Linux
Maybe that words refer to Linux open source system (Freely distributable)

I use Debian Mate since I was frustrated with MX errors (perhaps you would help me with that)
But I'm kinda comfortable with this Mate now.

Ah, in that case, I'm pretty sure it's a person then. I think he's the lead developer of MX Linux (additional information here) and helps out with the AntiX distribution. He's also a member here on LQ.
