Hello from Andy Bruce

Hi to the group. Installed Gentoo on HP Pavilion ze4220 laptop. Went through several installs building from scratch, finally decided to use GRP and everything installed smoothly. Now to learn how to secure the system before restarting the HTTP daemon.

See you at softwareab.net!

Andy,

How are you enjoying your Gentoo installation? I was curious are you planning on running a web server off of your laptop? I take it that you do not plan on serving a large user group....

Everything was running ok--no, wasn't planning on supporting very many simuls.

However, after an emerge sync where the reiserfs was updated, lost my main disk. Might have been the controller on the laptop, but not sure. Got another box and have installed gs-sources, but haven't tried to do anything with it.

This time--sticking with ext3 and hoping for the best.
