Hi malek13 welcome to the forum.

If you want to learn linu, you're gonna love Linux. It's so much better! ;-)

You could start with http://slackware.com if you want to learn from the ground up. Otherwise, try a nice stable behemoth like http://opensuse.org

Cheers.

Welcome to the forum. If you want something easy to learn, try ubuntu or Linux Mint.

Hello and welcome to the forum

What are your system's specs, such as the processor, the amount of memory and graphics card?

Regards...

Add the "x" and you'll be all set! Well, you probably knew that the typo would be fun.

Actually Linux "IS" an OS, or Operating System. I think you meant, "What distribution do we recommend?" I guess it depends what you wish to do with Linux. Server, tinkerer, needing a good desktop environment, science, development, or other. Recommendations would vary depending what you wish to do with it. I'd suggest researching some distributions via the web, and trying them out on a virtual machine configuration and see what you like or don't like about them.

Welcome malek13. As a starter distro, I recommend an Ubuntu LTS release such as Linux Mint 18, etc.
