I'm a sound engineer and as such have used relatively complicated embedded systems for years. Computing started for me in the 80s with a trusty VIC-20 - I still have one of those on a shelf in my bedroom, a gift from the lovely wife.
In short, love all things gadget and geek, to the extent I have this academic year enrolled at University to study Computer Science. Basically, I like to disassemble things to figure out how things work, and see if they can be improved or adapted to better suit the intended purpose.
Current machines are too many to mention, but include a Windows 10 laptop for University, a Mac Mini for diary/iPhone/iPad integration, and Linux for absolutely everything else. I have one Ubuntu machine for general integration - experience so far suggests it's the most widely supported if you need specific help, but my OS of choice is a heavily modified & re-rendered version of 64 Bit Puppy Tahr.
