Talking Hello

Hello to everyone. My name is John and as the username suggests I'm a noob to Linux. This post and my presence here is actually part of my open source computing class, although I have to admit that I have been bitten by the penguin and am looking forward to installing my first distro. (Please look for my post looking for suggestions for that first install that is posted in the general forum.)

On a pesonal level I'm not the usual college student as I will be 49 this June, and remember a time when there wasn't a computer within arms length of literally everyone. I'm working towards a BS in Computer Science but may change that to a more business oriented focus in the future. I have three grown daughters, youngest graduating college in May and 4 grand daughters. (Can't seem to get a boy to save my life. lol)

Look forward to meeting everyone and learning this black magic they call Linux.

Hi John, welcome to the forum. No magic involved with Linux, just lines and lines and more lines of code.

Regards...
