Another de-Windows'd comput-er

Hiya folks! I'm Sasha. I'm new to Linux, having finally given up on WinXP after it once and for all completely corrupted my HD to the point that I had to buy a new one. :P
I now have dual booting Slackware 11.0/WinXP (incase it's **really** needed for something I'm already tied-up in) on an Intel P4/1.8ghz.
I love my Slack installation so far, and as I get better at it's many ins and outs, I anticipate enjoying it more and more. I've found a few useful tips and info's here in the forums as a non-member, and figured it would be best for me (and hopefully other new Linuxers in the future) if I signed up and shared what I've learned so far, beginning with a reply or two to the threads & posts which have helped me already. Looking forward to learning, and contributing!
Take care all Merry Xmas/Happy holidays & new year ~
SVA

Outstanding, welcome to Linux. I love slackware, but have recently switched to openSUSE. I only switched because of where I work. We have novell and zenworks, and suse, being novell may be enough to tip our scales and move to a linux desktop.
