"Amateur" linux user

I'm not sure how to classify myself other than an "amateur" user. I am comfortable with Linux as long as what I'm doing is well documented. Currently use syslog in our environment as well as Cacti....will be going with new Cacti installation soon with Splunk free version to help mine our syslog messages. Most of my experiences is with Red Hat and CentOS.
