Smile Always wanted to be a Linux user. Finally became one. Feeling great. :)

I have wanted to beccome a linux user ever since I saw my school system admin using a linux terminal. But i was scared i wasnt "good enough" to use an OS which gave so much control , and with it responsibility, over the system. So i stuck with Windows for many years.

One problem I had with windows is that i got easily distracted into entertainment stuff. Since everything is easily available and GUI based, I never learnt much from using windows. But just one week of Fedora usage taught me a lot about how computers actually function behind the hood. I am loving it.

For example, installing software packages using yum made me feel much cooler. The feeling you get from accessing an online database from something as simple as a terminal (i know now it is not that simple) is amazing.

I am intellectually intrested in many fields like embedded systems, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity (i used to use the term hacking before, until i learnt it is a very general term for testing the limits and learning about something and anything). I am a newbie in all these fields too, just having read about them online.

With the wide variety of users using Linux, and an open community, i hope to find help and motivation to pursue my intrests from experts in the field, and compare progress with similar-minded people.

Welcome

I think you're underestimating yourself, and overestimating your OS.
