Yet another Orinoco patch question

I have been beating my head against this for a while :

OS : Mandrake 10.1, kernel 2.6.8.1-12mdk

from the directory /lib/modules/2.6.8.1-12mdk/kernel/drivers/net/wireless

When I run :

path -p1 --dry-run /diff_file_path/orinoco-0.13e-rfmon-dragon3.diff

nothing happens. All I get is a flashing cursor.

syntax ? wrong directory? missing something major/simple?

Any guidance is appreciated.

Moved to wireless networking at user's request.

I think you probably want:
patch -p1 --dry-run < /diff_file_path/orinoco-0.13e-rfmon-dragon3.diff

This will read the file into the standard input.

That darned syntax! Thanks for the help. Now I'm off to figure out the next step.
