I'm trying to configure a WUSB54G wireless adapter on my PC running Fedora 4. I have NDiswrapper downloaded and put on my linux computer, and I have WUSB54G the driver on a disc. I know I'm supposed to use NDiswrapper to get the drivers to work on linux but I have no idea how. Could anyone please give me step by step instructions on how to add and configure the WUSB54G adapter??
Thanx,
Sconts.
It looks like you don't have gcc installed. GCC is the compiler for various C and related languages. You can probably get it from the yum repositories with
# yum install gcc
If not, I think it's in the "Development Tools" section of the Fedora Packages List. To get there, type in "system-config-packages" at the command-line.
Thanks, I got ndiswrapper to install properly, but now I have yet another problem: I keep getting this error when trying to do the 'ndiswrapper -i wusb54g.inf' command:
[root@localhost bcmwl]# ndiswrapper -i WUSB54G.inf
Installing wusb54g
couldn't copy WUSB54G.inf at /usr/sbin/ndiswrapper line 135.
More help would be greatly appreciated, sorry to be a pain
I have found that copying the INF and the corresponding SYS file to some place on the harddisk works better than from CD. I really don't know why. I made a folder in my home called "other", and stored all that stuff in there.
$ mkdir ~tom/Other
$ cp [INF and SYS files] ~tom/Other
I had them in a folder on my HD, and I tried both the driver from my Linksys disc, and the driver I downloaded from linksys' web site. Both have failed.
